The concave bottom offers numerous advantages:
-
By sitting deeper in
the water, somewhat like a catamaran, both sides add flotation
and stability.
-
The angle created between
the side and bottom of the boat creates a sharper chine
resulting in improved tracking.
-
The "V" hull
shape at the bow slices through the water to limit the
splashing of water. The "V" hull shape at the
stern aids the tracking motion as the stern dips down
while pulling hard on the oars.
-
The passengers' weight
causes the bottom to react somewhat like the face of a
dam. The pressure exerted is more evenly distributed toward
the sides of the boat. The floor becomes stiffer than
that of a flat bottom without any additional weight. The
concave shape also keeps any water that enters the boat
when embarking to the sides and away from the feet of
the rower.
The new hull design of our Nord West low profile improves
rowing and tracking to a degree that has never been reached
by a drift boat before, give it a try! retail price $7,995
