The anchor system designed by Nord West Composites was derived from techniques that have been used on sailboats for many years. A large cam cleat holds the rope very tightly, until the rope is easily pulled to the side to release the anchor.

The anchor system is located on the side of the dry storage to allow for a cooler to slide under the rower seat. The rear composite anchor bracket has been built strong and durable, yet is lightweight.
