A survey showed that the rope seat is the oldest and most common system used by the rower. The reason for this is the perfect ergonomic shape allowed by this system. The space left between the body and the bench is more comfortable than a cushion for an 8 hour day of rowing. The bench is not adjustable due to the huge advantage of its structural position, but a rowing adjustment can still be made due to two oar lock positions.
